Device Detection & Preview

Video Devices

The video devices plugged into the hardware unit are displayed here, along with information such as the device name/alias, the framerate of the device, as well as the resolution, and the option to Live Preview.

The alias is just a name that is used to identify each source throughout the CaptureCastTM Pro.  In the image above, the alias is defined as "Computer 2." To change this, all you need to do is select the current alias, type a new name for the alias, and then click the Save Settings button at the bottom right of the screen.

Audio Devices

The audio devices are listed here, with information such as the name of the device, the alias, the max peak limiter, and the Peak Programme Meter ( PPM).

To change the alias of an audio device is the same as the video device, select the current alias and type in a new one, and click the Save Settings button.

 To change the limiter simply click and drag the square handle to the desired position on the slider. The Limiter determines at what level the volume will no go past. The CaptureCast Pro unit does not deal with audio. If you want to turn up the volume of the device please do so on the device itself.

 

 

 

Redetect 

 

If your video sources are not showing up (i.e., showing up as a blank screen) hit the Redetect button. When redetecting for devices you will noitce a small progress bar near the header. You will be able to see the progress bar on any tab you visit.

Redetection will look for all devices connected to the CaptureCastTM Pro.  If the unit still won't detect  a specific device you may need to:

 

  • Ensure the cables are securely plugged in.
  • Check that the video/audio source is working properly and the cables being used are not damaged.
  • Determine if the device itself is sending out the correct signal.
  • Go to the Settings tab then select Maintenance, and click Reboot System

 

 

If this still doesn't work you may need to turn off the machine completely and restart.  While problems like these are rare, they do occur on occasion. If this problem is persistent please contact your Cattura Video Representative or create a ticket within Zendesk for direct access to our technical staff.

 

You will not be allowed to redetect during capture events, since the the devices will be in use. Also If you do push redetect and it seems to be taking longer than usual, please just refresh the page.

 

Note: The unit will auto redetect between after each capture. This is normal behavior.

 

 

Live Device Preview

 

While on the Devices page you can see a live feed from your video sources. Once you press Live Preview a window will appear with the feed of the source displayed. As of this moment live previewing of audio devices is not supported.
